Caylee’s Law

With the public outcry from the Casey Anthony verdict – NOT GUILTY on all major counts, someone came up with a great outlet to give justice to Caylee Marie Anthony and not let her death be in vain. The new petition going around is Caylee’s Law, which, most people have either seen it, heard about it and possibly even signed it. I decided to post the website where you can go to sign the petition which hold parents, caregivers and legal guardians accountable to report their child missing within 24-48 hrs (this should be a no brainer, but obviously, according to Casey Anthony it’s not). This new law will make it a felony to not do so. This case, the Casey Anthony fiasco has not only captivated the US but all around the world and has caused a public outcry and rage over the verdict. We can only hope something positive can come out of this and lets not forget the most important person, Caylee Marie Anthony. I think with the media frenzy and the courtroom theatrics, Casey Anthony has received too much attention. Let’s all put that energy towards Caylee and help pass this new law.

Casey Anthony Murder Trial – Defense To Rest Today

Today is the day the defense for Casey Anthony is supposed to rest. I’m assuming they will call a few more witnesses, hopefully Casey Anthony herself. And possibly a few “experts” to testify for the defense while we all sit back and watch, live stream, pod cast, whatever…the tradegy as it unfolds before our eyes/ears. We all know that whoever they place on the stand today will be chewed up and spit out by Jeff Ashton who, has pretty much turned the defenses experts into prosecution experts by the time he was done. For those of us who have been following this case, it’s almost bittersweet. Will there finally be justice for Caylee Anthony? Will Casey Anthony finally have to pay for her actions? Today will be the day we all sit on pins and needles as we all hope and wait to hear the words, “Defense’s next witness?” – “The defense would like to call Casey Marie Anthony.” We will all be silent as we listen to the words come flying out her mouth. Lie after lie as she accuses her father and brother of sexual abuse. Lie after lie about how Caylee drowned and her dad and Mr. Kronk covered it up. The lies she will tell in regards to the smell in the trunk, chloroform, partying, and all her dysfunction. Those of us who get to watch it, will get to see as she “cries” on the stand, most likely with the same dry tissue she had since the trial first started. Then, sweet justice as we get to witness the Prosecution chew her up while the Defense shouts Objections followed by 10 million sidebars {ok, maybe a bit exaggerated}. Today will hopefully be the end of this, not only for justice for Caylee, the people who knew her and loved her. But, also the millions of us from around the country who fell in love with this beautiful little girl, barely 3 yrs old. Those of us who have watched this unfold for 3 years. Whatever your opinions are about the Anthony family in general and whether they are dysfunctional, hopefully with this trial coming to an end, they can see through the smoke and mirrors and hopefully be able to move on and get the help they need.

I will be Live Streaming it for the most part today until I get home. I need to see if Casey will take the stand and what words will fly out of her mouth.

Casey Anthony Trial

I imagine a lot of people are following the trial as I am. This case has hooked me since it first broke in July 2008. I have been watching this trial daily since it started and really am curious on what happened Saturday for JP to stop for the entire day. Anyone have any ideas on what might have happened? Do you think the defense will wrap this week? And finally, is there enough reasonable doubt?? I am especially curious about Saturday…

So…trying to blog from phone.

So, I am trying WordPress on my phone and am just curious to see how it works. I’m still new to the blog and only posted a few times. If I can get this down and be able to use my phone, I will most likely be on more. So I will be brief, hopefully I can get some phone pointers from anyone who stumbles on my blog!

New to the world of blogging

Hello fellow Bloggers,

Well, I am new to the world of blogging, sort of anyway. I did try last week on a different site and just couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to use it and have my family/friends be able to comment on it. So here I am, once again new and trying to figure out what to put as my first blog. As you can see from my user profile (hopefully I did it correctly) I am not only a mother to two fantastic kids, but I am also someone who has a passion for writing. I finally followed a life long dream of mine and completed a 90,000 word Thriller/Suspense (possibly Horror). The writing was the easy part, the story just flowed through my fingertips and onto the computer screen. Not much planning and plotting as I have read from multiple web pages. It took me a month to write a rough draft, another 2 months for the editing (Thank you to my wonderful mother who is a teacher. As you will soon find out, my grammar can be horrible at times). Then I passed the story along to my wonderful sister to read it, knowing out of everyone, she would give me her honest opinion, and I do mean honest. So, after her much valued opinions, correcting the edits, reading the story over and over and over again. With more edits and actually adding scenes and removing a few, my novel (at least to me) was polished to the 10th degree and ready for submissions. To my surprise, sitting down and writing a one page email query was harder than writing the novel, edits and re-writing COMBINED. How do you take a 90,000 word novel and squeeze out the good parts to catch an already busy with their hands full agent? It wasn’t easy. After a few horrible and I mean horrible query letters, I decided to sit down and lock myself in my room to throw together the best of the best. Once again, passing it off to two of my best critics, my mom and sister. After a few more “tweeks” I was now ready to send my emails off to the agents I queried and researched. Well, it has been a little over a month, 22 agents and 11 “REJECTED” responses later, this is when I decided to create my blog. I didn’t write my novel to be the next Stephen King, V.C Andrews (although, I would LOVE to be) I wrote it because it is something I have a passion for, and I want people to read what I write and now with a blog I hope to accomplish that. I am deciding whether or not to post my novel for all to see, read and even critique. I have an outline for a potential sequel to my novel and the way my brain works, I am already “plotting” my next one. So, with 11 agents left to hear from, hopefully soon and with good news, I will start to put chapters up once all 22 REJECT me. Tell me what you think, I am curious to see if people would take the time out of their day to read an unpublished author’s novel via blog and would you be will to critique? I look forward to the chance at sharing my story, my novel and look forward to hearing feedback!
